It is difficult to judge demand for a living
product and have sufficient stocks to meet all eventualities. It is possible
that when you make out your order, there will be items of which we have
insufficient stocks to meet demand. We therefore ask you to list some additional
choices, of approximately the same value as SUBSTITUTES . We will not
substitute plants of our own choice. We may, however, put in a different
pot size to that ordered if we have sold out of the requested size. To give
us some flexibility and assist us in keeping costs as low as possible, please
use the 'Limited Cheque' system detailed below.
Payment with order please by cheque made payable
to Hardy Exotics. Please use the 'Limited Cheque' system
to save both costly refunds and administration. An example of how to fill
out a 'Limited Cheque' is shown in how to order. As long as the amount
we enter in figures is the same or less than the amount in words, the
cheque is legal and can be presented. The invoice will be sent with your
plants which will, of course, show the correct final amount. Prices where
applicable include VAT at 17.5%. We reserve the right to alter prices
should the VAT rate change. Our Vat registration number is 501 2458 91.
Our plants are dispatched via overnight carrier.
The plants travel in open top boxes and arrive within 24 hours of collection
from the nursery to destinations within U.K. The normal charge for packing
and carriage is £20.00 for the first 10 kilos - usually about 8
or 9 plants in 3Litre containers. Each additional plant will cost an extra
£1.50 approximately. These prices apply only to mainland Britain
; please ask us to quote for Northern Ireland, offshore islands and other

Responsibility for the aftercare of plants rests
with the purchaser after delivery. We have no control over growing conditions
once the plants have left the nurseries.
Satisfied customers are important to us, so any
complaints will be dealt with quickly and considerately.
Should plants arrive in a damaged condition please notify us within 7
days in writing. We cannot be held responsible for failure due to adverse
weather conditions or incorrect planting and aftercare subsequent to receipt
of plants but we will always try to give helpful advice.
Our minimum order value is £30.00
excluding carriage. We find that a small group of plants travels
better than single pots, unless it is a large specimen. Acknowledgement
of order - only if requested and if your order is accompanied by a stamped

so that it arrives in perfect condition, we cannot be held responsible
for any conditions which are outside our control, or events, such as a
lightening transport strike, which are only evident after dispatch.
